Commissioner Roosevelt encloses a note that John Wallace Riddle can give to Mr. Rock, Roosevelt’s tailor. He considers Rock to be very good, and so does Elliott Roosevelt, which is more to the point. Roosevelt enjoyed the “alligator-bagger” clippings, and he will send them on to his family.

Isabella Hagner encloses a ticket for John Wallace Riddle for the play. Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt will be very pleased if Riddle accompanies her.

Kermit Roosevelt requests that John Wallace Riddle come and visit. Roosevelt leaves for the Badlands the following week. Kermit’s brother Archie will soon return from sailing on the Spray with Captain Joshua Slocum. The Spray was the boat that Captain Slocum sailed around the world.

Kermit Roosevelt acknowledges John Wallace Riddle’s correspondence and has cabled to look after Riddle’s cousin. Roosevelt has not seen Riddle in a long time and misses him at the bridge games at the Knickerbocker.
