Lane has received Representative Raker’s letter enclosing copies of H.R. 348 and 434, and states that the matter will be given immediate attention. Reports will be submitted to Representative Scott Ferris, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Lands, at the earliest possible date.

Lane informs Raker that he has submitted a report on the matter as it relates to H.R. 348 to Representative Scott Ferris, chairman of the House Committee on Public Lands, and encloses a copy for Raker’s information.

Director of the National Park Service Mather would be glad to take Representative Raker’s suggestion to meet with Arthur L. Conard regarding Lassen Volcanic National Park when he is next in California. He is not sure, however, if this will be as soon as October, as there is pressing national park business that will keep him in Washington for the present.
