Theodore Roosevelt thanks Ernest Ingersoll for the recommendation of William Brooks Cabot’s book In Northern Labrador and says he will be sure to obtain the book.

President Roosevelt would consider the government fortunate to have Ernest Ingersoll in its service, but the new Country Life Commission is only a volunteer group at the moment. Roosevelt has contacted Director of the Census S. N. D. North to see if any positions will open there soon, and will let Ingersoll know when he hears from him.

President Roosevelt was happy to see Ernest Ingersoll. He would send Ingersoll the first edition of Mammals, but it was a gift from a friend and has an inscription on the title page, and Roosevelt is not willing to part with it.

President Roosevelt invites Ernest Ingersoll to visit with him at the White House or at Oyster Bay. Roosevelt is impressed by his work as a naturalist and writer and gave Archibald B. Roosevelt a copy of Ingersoll’s Life of Animals.
