George B. Cortelyou, on behalf of Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt, apologizes to Mary Frances Hudson that she cannot meet her wishes. Roosevelt has had to adopt a rule to not concern herself with government affairs, and therefore advises Hudson to communicate with Postmaster General Charles Emory Smith.
