Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roosevelt informs Joseph Gaston Baillie Bulloch that he should have been aware of the details of his new position as acting assistant surgeon, and there may be nothing more Roosevelt can do to help him. Roosevelt instructs Bulloch to send him formal applications for both a position with the Indian Service and the Board of Medical Examiners. Roosevelt believes there may be more luck getting him a position with Indian Services because politics is not as prevalent.
