Theodore Roosevelt first day stamp commemorative print

Black ink print of Theodore Roosevelt in a suit. Beneath is a reproduction of Roosevelt’s signature. In the lower right corner is a carmine, six cent postage stamp with an illustration of Roosevelt that has been cancelled with a first day issue mark from the American Stamp Dealers Association National Postage Stamp Show Station. The print was postmarked in New York, New York, on November 18, 1955.

On the far right, Roosevelt is attempting to shake Senator La Follette off of a wooden horse labeled “Presidency.” On the middle left, Roosevelt has pulled up to the White House with a moving van but President Taft says he will not leave until hearing from the landlord.

Single, undated page from Life with two cartoons titled “Historic Boys” and captioned “Our Teddy” and “Clever Little Henry Ford.” The black ink cartoon shows Theodore Roosevelt in a safari-type outfit with knives stuck in his belt and patent leather shoes. One foot is resting on an overturned toy elephant and in the opposite hand is a rifle labeled “(Hot) Air Rifle.”
