Charles Young thanks Theodore Roosevelt for taking the time to look at his manuscript Military Morale of Nations and Races. If Roosevelt thinks it is worthy, Young asks him to write a letter giving his opinion of it to the University of Chicago and Leiutenant William E. W. MacKinlay at San Antonio. Young believes that if the publishers decide favorably on the book “it may mean quite a little to us of the black race” in the country.
