N. B. Johnston reflects on Theodore Roosevelt’s article “Race Decadence.” He chastises Roosevelt and others for failing to account for God’s influence in the matter. Just as God destroyed the Jews when they forgot him and disobeyed his commandments, he will do the same to modern society unless men recognize their wrongdoings as “sins against God.” Therefore, Johnston directs Roosevelt and others in prominent positions to use their words to “call upon men to turn to God.”
