Pedro Jose Escalon, President of El Salvador, accepts the offer of President Roosevelt to coordinate negotiations to settle hostilities between Salvador and Guatemala. Escalon accepted the offer of the USS Marblehead for the conclusion of the treaty in neutral waters.
