In response to President Roosevelt’s wish that he find out the availability of General Fitzhugh Lee’s two sons, Charles Laurie McCawley suggests to Benjamin F. Barnes that it would be best if he could talk to them in person rather than by correspondence. McCawley hopes that Barnes can postpone the visit until after he returns to Washington.
