Tebbetts Exhibit A

Subject(s): Alabama--Mobile, Tebbetts, William Frye, 1872-1942

Chief Case investigated Mr. Tebbetts’ claim that he was assaulted by a man with a knife. Case learned that Mr. Lynch was in the street at the same time as Tebbetts had mentioned. Lynch was interviewed and stated that Tebbetts had mistaken Lynch for an assailant. Lynch spoke to him but Tebbetts staggered away. Chief Case reported this to Tebbetts, who agreed that was what happened. Tebbetts then stated he must have imagined seeing a knife. Case made his statement to Lea Woodruff, a Notary Public of Mobile County, Alabama.
