John Lewis Griffiths thanks President Roosevelt for the letter he sent requesting a copy of a recent speech by Griffiths. Griffiths feels that the peroration of the speech that Roosevelt was particularly interested in was “a wholly inadequate estimate of yourself and your distinguished public service,” but sends it to him with his highest regards.
