Butler regrets that he has been unable to visit Washington, D.C., and asks if Roosevelt will be able to visit him in New York when he comes to vote. The impending election is making him slightly nervous, even though he knows there is no reason to fear, and he sympathizes with the stress that it must place on Roosevelt’s wife, Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt.
