Mary Elizabeth Blampey Trautmann encloses a receipt for $50.00 which President Roosevelt sent for Clare A. Cooper. Cooper had her abusive husband arrested and needs to pay rent on her apartment. Trautmann consulted with the husband’s sister, who confirmed the details, and therefore Trautmann continues to try to assist Cooper. Trautmann will talk to Dr. Darlington about securing a job for Cooper, and if not successful, will request Roosevelt’s assistance in obtaining a job through the immigration office. Trautmann thanks him for the “kind thought” regarding Mr. Trautmann’s health. She sends her regards to Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt.
