Douglas Robinson has received George B. Cortelyou’s telegram that Dr. Rixey will not be in Washington, D.C., until Tuesday. Since the insurance companies have all agreed that Rixey will perform the physical examination on President Roosevelt, it would be difficult to find another doctor. If the examination is done Tuesday, and after Roosevelt signs the three applications on Wednesday, the policies can be made out. The companies have also asked that they be able to tell their agents after the policies are signed, that Roosevelt has taken out a policy with them. Robinson is unsure how Roosevelt would feel about this as it could be used by the companies for advertising.
