Letter from Fremont Cole to Theodore Roosevelt

Fremont Cole heard a false report that President McKinley had died and wired Vice President Roosevelt thanking God he was the president. However it appears that McKinley will survive, but if the worst happens Cole believes Roosevelt will be the “noblest and greatest of presidents.”
