This issue of the Theodore Roosevelt Association Journal very much reflects the late 1970s in which it was published (in this specific case, 1976). The issue contains five articles that note the Theodore Roosevelt Association’s (TRA) production and distribution of eight documentary video cassette tapes that feature historic footage of Theodore Roosevelt formerly available only on old reel film. Much space in this issue is also devoted to the TRA’s efforts (along with other government entities) to undertake an urban renewal revitalization project in the neighborhood of the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site in New York City. The issue also notes the politics of the time as it features remarks made in the House of Representatives in October 1967 by Michigan Congressman Gerald R. Ford who became President of the United States in August 1975 following the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
The cover photograph of this issue shows Old Orchard, the home of Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., the eldest son of President Roosevelt, on the grounds of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, Oyster Bay, New York.
