Theodore Roosevelt thanks Father Curran for the nice letter, and tells him that he greatly enjoyed being Curran’s guest during his most recent trip. Roosevelt expresses his belief in Curran, as Curran is “a square and honest and rugged man bent upon helping the poor and avoiding all semblance of hatred toward the rich.”
