Judge Jones assures President Roosevelt that he was not aware of the extent of the allegations of immorality against Leander J. Bryan when he recommended that Roosevelt reappoint him U.S. Marshal. Jones now believes that Bryan should not be reappointed and has instructed him to withdraw his application.
