Assistant Secretary of the Navy Darling informs President Roosevelt that the armed cruiser Buffalo has been dispatched to patrol the Bering Sea at the request of the State Department and the Department of Commerce and Labor. Darling requests Roosevelt’s approval to authorize the ship searching and seizing sealers.
