Theodore Roosevelt will read the papers sent by Ralph Duniway of Portland, Oregon. However, Roosevelt holds strongly that pure democracy in the sense that Duniway uses the word is one of the forms of republican government. Roosevelt also asserts that it is absurd to deny that Switzerland is a republic.
