Theodore Roosevelt thanks Oscar K. Davis for what he said in the article, but he clarifies that “is by no means certain that I would not refuse the nomination even if it came to me unanimously.” He feels it is an academic argument, however. He would like to know if Davis will be in town over the summer so he can introduce him to some of The Outlook people over lunch.
