President Roosevelt tells Basil Wilson Duke that he cannot make any requests of president-elect William H. Taft, and that in forwarding his previous letter about Mr. Sharpe, Roosevelt only stated how highly he regarded Duke. Roosevelt wishes that Duke would write directly to Taft, but promises to forward his letter about Mr. Craft.
