Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Hiram Percy Maxim

President Roosevelt believes that Hiram Percy Maxim’s suggestion would be the best way to handle the matter. Roosevelt would like to try Maxim’s silencers, but is wary about adding them to his current rifles, as he cannot afford to take any chances with them. Roosevelt would be delighted to have Maxim come to the White House and show him some guns.
