President Roosevelt is sorry to learn that former Rough Rider George F. Murray shot and killed a man named James German. Roosevelt does not understand whether German was armed or not, but hopes it will be all right. He appreciated receiving a telegram from New Mexico Territory Attorney General Llewellyn about the convention.
