President Roosevelt was pleased to hear from his cousin, Margaret Roosevelt Kimberly, in spite of the circumstances. He has told another of his cousins, John Ellis Roosevelt, that because of affairs in Congress it is unfortunately not possible for him to attend the funeral of his uncle, Robert Barnwell Roosevelt.
