President Roosevelt asks Stanford President David Starr Jordan to give him an outline of what he wants him to say at the Hague Conference. He also has heard reports that Dr. Julius Goebel was dismissed from his position at Stanford because he disapproved of something Roosevelt had written. However, Roosevelt does not remember Goebel ever criticizing him about anything.
