President Roosevelt would like to have the Alaska legislation passed, as it is important that the Republican Congress “should show its genuine care for the welfare” of the state. Roosevelt believes they should be “pretty safe” in doing so with the support of Senators Beveridge, Nelson, and Dillingham.
