President Roosevelt tells Secretary of the Treasury Shaw he should be “genuinely pleased” with the letter from North Dakota. Roosevelt believes it speaks well of Shaw and himself. The president says, “I congratulate you,” and adds in a handwritten addition, “& myself.”
