Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Joe Mitchell Chapple

President Roosevelt is indignant that Joe Mitchell Chapple used the memorandum that was sent him as part of an advertisement for his magazine. The public use of the memorandum is an “unpardonable breach of faith” and Roosevelt regrets showing such a courtesy. Roosevelt wants the advertisement stopped and the memorandum returned.
