Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to the United States Civil Service Commission

Department Commander Kimball has requested that the age limit be waived for veterans who are applicants for laborer’s positions, especially in the case of Mr. Fought. President Roosevelt supports this policy as long as the veteran is physically fit to perform the work.
