Secretary of the Navy John Davis Long is anxious to visit Linderman’s establishment, but an upcoming visit to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, prevents him from doing so. Hinman will bring Linderman’s letter to the attention of Assistant Secretary of the Navy Theodore Roosevelt once he returns.
