Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roosevelt informs Hamlin Garland that he lives with Senator Henry Cabot Lodge. He invites Garland to dinner at the Lodge’s the following Monday and lunch with him and Lodge’s brother-in-law, Brooks Adams. Garland and Adams both support free silver.
