Ellis James Woolf encloses a short synopsis of the gas engine history to the stockholders of the Woolf Valve Gear Company, including details of his contract with the company, noting that he wrote one part while at Rochester, Minnesota. Although certain leaders in the company believed that Woolf was insane because of his interpretation of his contract, he assures the stockholders that he was not nor was he “in need of the liquor or any other cure.”
