Letter from David Forrest Wilber to Herbert H. D. Peirce
The Chinese boycott of American goods has had no effect on Singapore. Europe sympathizes with China during the boycott and their newspapers encourage it. Consul General Wilber believes this may eventually negatively affect European trade with China because “the Chinese do not discriminate between Americans and Europeans.”
