Oliver H.Wallop reminds Theodore Roosevelt of their previous introduction and requests his help preserving Wyoming’s wild game. As a state legislator, he established the Big Horn State Game Refuge. While nominated, Wallop declined to return to the legislature, and the Republican party suffered in the recent election. The newly elected Democrats have attacked the refuge and disparaged Wallop’s British nationality. Wallop argues that refuges are the only means of protecting wildlife without periodically passing prohibitory laws. He asks Roosevelt to help by writing to friends in Cheyenne, Wyoming, or publishing articles in The Outlook.
