French pastor Charles Wagner plans to send President Roosevelt a volume of his recent speeches once they are translated. He asks if Roosevelt, after receiving and reading the book, would be willing to write a few words about it to show his support. Wagner’s work is going ahead, and he shares that he has been writing short moral columns for schoolteachers to share with students in France.

Letter from Charles Wagner to Theodore Roosevelt

Charles Wagner responds to President Roosevelt’s previous letter. Wagner informs Roosevelt that he will be visiting the United States from September to October and asks if Roosevelt and his family will meet him. He sends a book as a gift for Roosevelt’s youngest son and tells Roosevelt that he is reading American Ideals. Original letter is in French; English translation is included.
