Letter from Isaac Newton Seligman to Theodore Roosevelt

Isaac Newton Seligman comments on William Barclay Parsons, who has been appointed to the Isthmian Canal Commission. Seligman has written to Admiral John Grimes Walker about Benjamin D. Woodward, who had also been considered for work with the Commission. Seligman is circulating copies of the pamphlet “Mr. Roosevelt and the Presidency, By A Spectator,” believing that it is the duty of Roosevelt’s friends to combat “unfair criticism.” Seligman also notes that he attended the funeral of Marcus Alonzo Hanna in Cleveland and hopes to visit Roosevelt in Washington soon.
