Christina Rainsford recalls her childhood memories of observing Theodore Roosevelt and his family while on vacation near Mount Marcy in upstate New York. She describes the events surrounding Roosevelt’s notification that he must return to Buffalo, New York, to assume the Presidency upon the death of President William McKinley.
