Charles Jesse Jones sends Theodore Roosevelt a leg of Persian lamb, although he wishes he could send more. Nevertheless, he hopes the leg “will give [Roosevelt] a taste and help to brace [him] up for that wonderful journey that [he] is about to take, to the West.”

He encloses photos which he thinks the president will enjoy, two of which are photographs of the first wood buffalo calves in the area. Jones describes the animals that he has come into contact with and he anxiously awaits Roosevelt’s next visit.
