Silas N. Hodges requests Theodore Roosevelt’s assistance in finding medical treatment for appendicitis and other intestinal trouble he began facing while serving in the military. Hodges explains that he will be able to pay for services including x-rays, should he obtain permission from the Surgeon General to be treated.
