Letter from Gilson Gardner to Ben B. Lindsey
Gilson Gardner was pleased with Judge Lindsey’s electoral success in Denver, Colorado and is supportive of Lindsey as a potential candidate for vice president. Gardner thanks Roosevelt for denying “the lie carried out by the Associated Press.” He states a local paper editor in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, had also seen the story in the Associated Press that Roosevelt had endorsed William H. Taft’s nomination, and the editor had not seen Roosevelt’s denial.
