Louis R. Ehrich reminds President Roosevelt of a conversation they had in 1901 where Roosevelt said he was for Philippine independence. Ehrich believes that the Democrats will win many independent voters in presidential election because their platform is clear on the issue of independence while the Republicans are not. He encourages Roosevelt to publicly declare his support for Philippine independence and work to make it a reality.
