Letter from Homer Davenport to William Loeb
Homer Davenport writes William Loeb about a letter he requested (presumably a letter of reference from Theodore Roosevelt) to be used by a young Syrian who would act as his agent in acquiring some horses. Davenport notes that he ended up conducting the transaction himself. Davenport states the young Syrian therefore did not use the letter as intended and has since used it to advance his interests in other ways. Davenport asks Loeb for a “strong note” requesting the letter back.
