Roosevelt, Theodore, 1858-1919
English
Edward S. Curtis writes Theodore Roosevelt about his upcoming lecture tour, and states the most important lecture will be at Carnegie Hall. Curtis hopes to include Roosevelt’s name on the honorary list, as he hopes it will further the interest of his book and tour. Curtis encloses a leaflet with the letter, and a “Mr. Marshall” sends Roosevelt his kindest regards after coming to Curtis on advice on “Indian subjects.”

Edward S. Curtis is sending Theodore Roosevelt volumes five, six, and seven of his ethnographic work The North American Indian. Volume eight will come later. He is quite proud of the pictures in volume seven. He will write Andrew Carnegie that he is sending these additional volumes.

Edward S. Curtis is readying volumes 6, 7, and 8 of his “Indian books” for delivery. However, he is uncertain if Theodore Roosevelt ever received volume 5 and is checking if Roosevelt has the proceeding five volumes. He designed a cabinet for storing the book set and accompanying folios. If Roosevelt has the space, Curtis will send one.
