David Campbell writes that he will notify Fred Campbell if Theodore Roosevelt wishes Fred to cook for him again, as he did in Cuba. He writes that he would consider an appointment as a physician in an African American regiment with Roosevelt.

David Newton E. Campbell asks Theodore Roosevelt to publish the enclosed article in The Outlook to secure a donor to finance the production of his book How to Prevent Tuberculosis. He intends to distribute the book freely to educate people and decrease the ravages of the disease. General Angus Felix and Dr. Henry Barton Jacobs highly commend the work. If a donor is not found, Campbell asks if The Outlook will publish it.
