Le Baron Russell Briggs admits that his previous invitation was “taking a chance shot,” though it would give him great pleasure if Theodore Roosevelt would be able to attend. He wishes he might take Roosevelt up on his return invitation to Oyster Bay, but he is often too busy when visiting New York on Harvard College business.
