Letter from Edmund Billings to Silas McBee
While Edmund Billings cannot give Silas McBee a “statesmanlike” statement about his preferring President Roosevelt over the Democratic candidate, he says that Roosevelt is “a man’s man,” and notes that Robert Treat Paine, the past Democratic candidate for Massachusetts governor, said that he would support Roosevelt. Billings asks for a list of delegates that will attend the general convention next month.
