James Bingham, Attorney general of Indiana, thinks that President Roosevelt is making a mistake in not accepting nomination for a third presidential term. Secretary of War Taft is being accepted by the people, Bingham says, not because of Taft himself, but because of the interest of the population in Roosevelt’s policies and his endorsement of Taft. Bingham is sure that Taft will be a good president, but feels that Roosevelt would be better.
