Israel Zangwill thanks President Roosevelt for his kind reception of his play The Melting Pot, and says that he has changed the line that Roosevelt suggested. However, reports about a woman in California who is marrying her seventh husband leads him to think that his indictment, though sweeping, was not unfounded. Zangwill would like to dedicate the book form of the play to Roosevelt. He hopes that when Roosevelt leaves the presidency, he will visit.
